Austin is a graduate of University of Pittsburgh Frederick Honors College, where he received a B.A. In Political Science, with a minor in history. He serves as President of the Pennsylvania College Democrats, where he founded the Rising Leaders Campaign Bootcamp with the PA Democratic Party to train the next generation of organizers. Previously a rank and file union member in high school with the United Steelworkers and a fellow with the United Steelworkers International Union through Georgetown’s Kalmanovitz Initiative, Austin assisted the political, organizing, and strategic campaigns department in research, political actions, and lobbying. He’s interned for US House Rep. Chris Deluzio and State Rep. John Inglis in Pennsylvania, focusing on policy research, constituent services, federal grants, and community redevelopment. Served in campaign roles from Intern to Campaign Manager, helping Pennsylvania candidates deliver results on the front of finance, organizing, and political relationship building.

A Pennsylvania politico and labor advocate, Austin is passionate about youth-powered change, worker rights, and building a Democratic Party that fights for the next generation of the working class––today.
