Kate Louagie is a junior at Miami University triple-majoring in Philosophy, Political Science, and International Studies, with a minor in Spanish. Originally from the northern Cincinnati area, she found her passion for politics when she joined her university’s chapter of College Democrats her freshman year. Kate began her political leadership as events coordinator for the chapter at the start of her second semester, then as President of the organization for the 2025 calendar year. She is also involved as a volunteer in her local county party, with particular focus on local candidates and issues. She was also a Delegate for Ohio at the 2024 DNC.

Kate has worked on local campaigns since her freshman year of college in positions from communications to volunteer organization. She has a passion for digging into the values that underlie policy and ideological positions. She believes that policy decisions should make everyone feel heard, even if they disagree with the exact outcomes. She is also a strong advocate for access to high-quality education, reproductive health services, and sustainable transportation initiatives. In addition to her political work, Kate is a ballroom dancer at the collegiate level and her favorite philosopher is Immanuel Kant.
