Deyona’s background is in activism, advocacy, and organizing. Starting in her home town where she was the champion of removing all Confederate-tied names from public institutions. Fresh out of High School Deyona gave a TED talk about giving youth a seat at the table. And later on her college campus she organized campaigns with Surge FSU and became the 75th Budget Chair of the Florida State University. Leading to her state-wide and national work with Reverend Al Sharpton, as well as former congressional member Val Demings. Deyona is no stranger to hard work and has been featured in Teen Vogue, CNN, Florida Times Union, and The Root. Deyona is also a White House Honoree and founder of Spear Initiative.
